Senior Video Coordinator
- Location: Secaucus, New Jersey, United States
This position is within a unionized bargaining unit and union membership will be required. Assignment end dates are tentative and subject to change.
Position Summary:
The Live Content Senior Video Coordinator position is responsible for any live content created for the NBA’s social and digital platforms.
Major Responsibilities:

Grow a Live Content menu that can support the NBA’s existing Digital, Linear, and Social Platforms

Help the NBA innovate in the Live Content Space as new technology and platforms are popping up regularly.

Lead Productions both on site and virtually from the NBA’s New Jersey office ranging in scope from smaller footprints all the way up to multi-camera full production of games for streaming platforms.

Play a key role in the NBA’s Future Starts Now coverage of live grassroots basketball games across the country.

Help develop content plans during tentpole events and work closely with publishing teams to determine best experiences for the users of our platforms.

Work closely with the partnerships team to activate sold content around tentpole events during the season.

Develop a live content offering for NBATV
Required Skills/Knowledge:
-
10+ Years experience producing complex live broadcasts from pre-production through post, including run-of-show creation, rehearsals, live execution, and debriefs.

Expert knowledge of cameras, switchers, audio consoles, encoders, intercom, routing, and signal flow (SDI, NDI, SMPTE, Dante, etc.) Must be an expert with VMix software.

Hands-on experience with streaming platforms and CDNs (YouTube Live, Twitch, Vimeo, custom RTMP workflows), including redundancy, latency management, and failover strategies.

Ability to confidently call live shows, direct camera ops and technical crew, manage timing, and make real-time decisions under pressure.

Direct experience producing live sports broadcasts, with a strong understanding of game flow, timing, replay workflows, officiating considerations, and the unique pace and pressure of sports environments. The ideal candidate is also deeply knowledgeable about the NBA.

Strong understanding of live audio mixing, intercom systems, and troubleshooting audio issues in real time.

Experience building and leading production teams (in-house and freelance), coordinating vendors, and managing multiple stakeholders during live events.

Demonstrated ability to anticipate failures, build contingency plans, and resolve issues instantly without disrupting the audience experience.

Expertise in creating detailed tech rundowns, stage plots, signal flow diagrams, camera plots, and production schedules.

Comfortable producing both physical live events and fully remote / hybrid productions using tools like Zoom, Teams, or bespoke remote workflows.

Strong editorial judgment—understands pacing, graphics, transitions, and camera language to keep live content engaging and professional. Experience/examples required showing ability to build live show rundowns.

Familiarity with tools such as VMix, Livestream Studio, Tagboard, or similar for lower thirds, stingers, and media playback.

Strong knowledge of the live streaming capabilities, limitations, and best practices across major social platforms, including Facebook, X (Twitter), YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitch.

Proven ability to manage and oversee live production budgets, including forecasting costs, negotiating with vendors, tracking spend, and delivering projects on time and on budget without compromising production quality.

Proven ability to remain composed, focused, and decisive in high-stakes, time-critical live environments.
Salary Range:
$39.75/hr
