Information Management Analyst
- Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada
The Information Management Analyst establishes Corporate information governance practices and provides expert advice and coaching to internal teams across The Corporation. The Analyst identifies opportunities for improvement, evaluates solutions, defines business rules, and facilitates the implementation of new or enhanced processes, products, and services focused on efficient, effective information management practices that support delivery of all City services and programs. Primary duties include:
- Provide RIM subject matter expertise for the development and implementation of RIM.
- Contribute to defining City business requirements, configuration, and standards for the electronic document management system.
- Lead, direct, and manage internal team initiatives to continuously improve existing RIM practices.
- Implement RIM corporate-wide processes, including facilitating business unit proposals for changes to and interpretation of the Corporate Records Classification and retention Schedule.
- Execute required activities to monitor compliance and effectiveness of the RIM policies, strategies and procedures for The City and make recommendations to meet City-wide business needs and usability, and, with IT partners, implements solutions.
- Develop templates, documentation, and training to support Business Unit Records Coordinators, leaders, software experts and other staff in meeting requirements.
- Provide advice, and promote planning, communication, and training to support change management involving information workflows and records.
- Provide advice, customer service support, troubleshooting, and recommendations on the integration of City's RIM requirements into project and program management as well as business processes.
- Support the implementation of business unit and Corporate RIM projects and initiatives, including establishment of scope, objectives, requirements, measurements, and risks.
- Build client relationships across The City through networking, participating in City initiatives, and regular knowledge sharing, including facilitating City wide communities of practice for employees with RIM responsibilities.
- Act as an ambassador for The City by sharing information with civic partners, elected officials, municipalities, organizations and through conference presentations and participation in industry events.
- Plan and deliver courses, workshops, and information sessions to educate staff in key RIM concepts, industry best practices and City- specific software and processors.
- Develop, design, and continuously improve Corporate RIM training and resources.
- Create and publish manuals to form baseline for business units to customize, templates and learning aids to support employees.
- Administer the electronic document management system training library including management of sample training data and user permissions.
- Provide coverage for the Corporate Records Lead, and Records Technician roles, as required.
Qualifications
- A completed diploma in the field of Records or Information management plus at least 5 years of records OR
- A degree (such as Bachelor of Arts) combined with one or more post-secondary records management courses and at least 3 years of records or information management experience.
- Knowledge of standardized records management practices and principles and knowledge of electronic information practices is essential.
- Knowledge of records management and document management systems is also required.
- A commitment to consistency and attention to detail.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent ability to prioritize and multitask.

Workstyle
- This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

Union: CUPE Local 38
Position Type: 1 Permanent
Compensation: Pay Grade 10 $44.01 - 58.82 per hour
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week.
Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
