Quality Engineer - HVAC Manufacturing
- Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and technically skilled Quality Engineer to support our HVAC manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for ensuring product quality, improving processes, supporting root‑cause investigations, and driving continuous improvement across the production floor. The ideal candidate brings strong HVAC knowledge, hands‑on manufacturing experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, production, and leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, procedures, and inspection processes for HVAC equipment
- Conduct root‑cause analysis (RCA) and lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities
- Support incoming, in‑process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
- Work closely with Engineering and Production to resolve quality issues and improve product reliability
- Review and interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and specifications
- Monitor quality metrics and prepare reports for internal teams and management
- Lead or support internal audits, supplier audits, and customer quality reviews
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and support Lean/5S initiatives
- Train and mentor production staff on quality standards and best practices
- Support non‑conformance reporting (NCR) and ensure timely closure of quality issues
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related field
- 3–5+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality role (HVAC experience strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and assembly processes
- Experience with root‑cause analysis tools (5 Why, Fishbone, DMAIC, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product excellence
- Experience with ISO standards, quality audits, or QMS systems is an asset
Preferred Experience
- HVAC manufacturing or sheet‑metal fabrication background
- Experience working in a fast‑paced production environment
- Familiarity with ERP systems and digital quality reporting tools
